Puppy Training is built for dogs roughly 8 weeks to 6 months — the socialization window — and for owners who’d rather prevent problems than pay to fix them later.

Between roughly 8 and 16 weeks, a puppy’s brain is deciding what counts as normal and what counts as a threat. A puppy who meets city buses, elevators, umbrellas, delivery carts, and calm adult dogs during that window tends to shrug them off for life. A puppy who doesn’t often meets those same things at eight months old — bigger, stronger, and now genuinely frightened — and that is when the calls about lunging and barking start. Almost every reactivity case we take on later traces back to a socialization window that quietly closed without enough in it.
In-home training matters more for a puppy than for any other age. This is where your puppy actually lives — your floors, your stairwell, your door buzzer, your street — so it is where new habits set the deepest and where the hardest problems (house training, crate settling, door manners) have to be solved. A rented classroom an hour a week teaches your puppy to behave in a rented classroom. We coach you on your own turf so the behavior holds every other hour of the week, and we give you a written plan and our free socialization tracker so you can keep the exposures on schedule between sessions.
It is also the cheapest training you will ever buy. Prevention is a five-session program; undoing a fear that set in is behavior modification, and it takes longer, costs more, and never fully erases the head start you missed. Getting the first six months right is the single highest-return thing a Boston dog owner can do.
